something free

A couple of years ago, someone told me "do something that makes you feel free".
I was reminded of this over the weekend when I relaxed in a river in the Ozarks, and took a walk around my neighborhood when I got home.  These are two things I enjoy, but don't really take time to do often.  It felt good.  And so dear readers, I pass along this quote to you.  Do something that makes you feel free today!

relaxing gifts for busy people

The other day the PTSA of Columbia (MO) public schools bought a gift certificate of several massages for one of their members who "retired" this month after many years of service.  This person, they told me, is very involved with the public schools and keeps busy all the time.  They wanted to do something nice and rewarding, so they pooled their money and gave this person the gift of relaxation!  I thought this was a wonderful idea.  Honoring a busy person with the gift of relaxation, what could be better?

by the way.... Yoga Sol's new website is up and running!

Finding my Yoga

For several years I've been sticking to my own private yoga practice because I haven't been turned on by the studios here in town.  Having a home practice is nice, but its easy to stick to the same routine and do easy stuff.  A few months ago I discovered a new yoga studio in town with dynamic and challenging sequences that are really inspiring.  Yoga Sol!  Unfortunately they don't have a website yet, but if you want to check it out call Polly, she is awesome.
Another urge churning in my heart is the desire to have a class again.  I've been teaching here and there, I'll teach anywhere; let me know if you and your friends want to learn some poses!  But in the future I intend to set my roots down and have a regular place at a regular time with regular yogis.  Soon I think!
